Colin Jones (3rd Dan) is one of many senior members of the British Aikido Federation. He started practicing in 1972 and has over thirty years experience. He started under the instruction of Chiba Kazuo Shihan, and later Kanetsuka Shihan. He achieved 1st Dan in Aikido in 1982 and achieved 3rd Dan in 1999.

Dawn Sherringham (2nd Dan)started Aikido in 1981. She is one of the most experienced female instructors in the BAF. She has recently practiced at Hombu dojo in Tokyo and attends seminars both abroad and in the UK. In Judo, Dawn was British student champion and competed for Wales at International level. She is 1st Dan in Karate and has also studied Kendo. In addition, as a post-graduate, she studied Japanese Language at the University of Sheffield.
